Pretending to be a photographer: Whitianga’s hidden gems.

When I was in New Zealand we rented the car for 24 hours and travelled Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove during the day, but I didn’t want to waste the evening sitting around the hostel either. Thus, we ventured out again.  Again, on the suggestion of the brilliant owner of ‘On the Beach Backpackers’, we hit the road and explored some of Whitianga’s lesser-known beaches.

Here are some pictures taken on the brilliant Rings and Otama  Beaches, Opito Bay and the terrifying Black Jack Road. I was pretending to be a photographer.

Then I developed a fascination with waves… They look amazing.

So yeah. That wraps up the one and half days I spent in Whitianga. Next stop (where I’m currently writing this blog from) the volcanic/geothermal town of Rotorua.
